Take the scenic drive along the Seward Highway and visit the many seaside communities along the way. Places like Girdwood, Whittier, and Hope are all gust a short drive.

Quiet and relaxing is about the only way to describe Upper Skilak Lake Campground on Skilak Lake Road. This drive takes you off the Seward highway at Tern Lake and along the scenic Sterling Highway headed towards Soldotna and beyond. You will enjoy this drive through the picturesque valley of the Kenai River, along the shores of Kenai Lake and the Kenai River. Skilak Lake road exits the Sterling highway at mile 58. You will drive down a well maintained gravel road past Hidden Lake Campground at mile 3.5 to the turn-off for Upper Skilak Lake Campground at mile 8.5 beside Lower Ohmer Lake. Lower Ohmer Lake is a great place to fish for both Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden.
